Appointments for Connection Fee Counter

Updated September 17, 2025: The Sanitation Districts Connection Fee Counter will be closed on December 25 & 26, 2025.

Appointments are required for all in-person residential Sewer Connection Fee submissions from December 22, 2025, through January 2, 2026. Please call (562) 908-4288, ext. 2727.

Appointments can now be scheduled ahead of time. Please call (562) 908-4288, ext. 2727, to set up an appointment.

At the Connection Fee counter, we can process same-day connection fees for ADU's, single-family homes (developments excluded), or payment for quotes.

Applications are always accepted by email at connectionfee@lacsd.org. Process times are 2-5 business days. Applications can also be mailed to or dropped off at our Joint Administration Office located at 1955 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California 90601.

For Connection Fee clearance, please make sure to provide the following:

Completed Sewerage System Connection Fee Application
- Application can be obtained at the counter or online at www.lacsd.org
Site and Floor Plan (required for all projects except Septic to Sewer)
Demolition permit/plans, if applicable

Service Charge Rates

Service charges are paid by residential and commercial dischargers to cover the annual cost of operation and maintenance of the wastewater system and to pay for upgrade capital facilities that benefit those users. The service charge rate tables provide a list of all user categories, the units of usage (e.g. per 1,000 sq. ft.) for each category, the number of sewage units per unit of usage for each category, and the adopted charges per unit of usage for each category. Industrial Wastewater Surcharge Rates

Industrial wastewater surcharge rates are paid by industrial wastewater dischargers and are equivalent to the service charge rates paid by residential and commercial users. The industrial wastewater surcharge rate tables provide a list of the rates for each of the charge parameters; flow, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and suspended solids (SS); making up wastewater. Find the District in which your parcel is located.

Connection Fee Rates

Connection fees are paid by new users or existing dischargers who increase their discharge. These fees cover the cost of the capacity needed to accommodate their discharge. It is usually a one-time fee that must be paid before a connection to the sewer is made. The connection fee rate tables provide a list of all user categories, the units of usage (e.g. per 1,000 sq. ft.) for each category, the number of capacity units per unit of usage for each category, and the adopted charges per unit of usage for each category.
