Payment at the scales must be in cash, credit card (MasterCard, American Express, & Discover only), debit card, or by pre-arranged credit. No checks are accepted. All rates, excluding green waste rates, include state, county and appropriate local fees and taxes.
Important Announcement
If you need to make a payment, go to the Make an Online Payment page to pay by credit card or e-check. For in-person payments, you may leave your check with the lobby guard at our Joint Administration Office.

UPDATE on Accepting Fire and Disaster Related Waste at LACSD Collection Facilities
Scholl Canyon Landfill / South Gate Transfer Station / Puente Hills Materials Recovery Facility
Warning: Disaster-Related Waste
Per current state requirements, these sites cannot accept disaster-related waste, including green waste created by the recent high winds.
Customers who bring unacceptable waste to these locations will be charged at least $500 for the extra cost incurred by the Districts.

This site CAN accept disaster-related waste, including green waste created by the recent high winds. However, per LA County order, fire debris, including burnt green waste, MUST have a certificate that the waste is non-hazardous. Customers who bring unacceptable waste will be charged at least $500 for the extra cost incurred by the Districts.

Unburnt green waste created by the recent high winds will be accepted for disposal (i.e., no recycling credit) without a certificate.
Rates
Effective October 6, 2025
Please Note:
Uncovered Loads Capable of Producing Litter:
All Facilities - $5.40 per ton or $5.40 per load surcharge.
Non-manifested Tire Loads:
Calabasas and Scholl Canyon Landfills - $5.40 per ton or $5.40 per load surcharge.
- All rates excluding Pull-offs, Green Waste, Asphalt, Clean Dirt and Food Waste include the following fees, as appropriate:
-California Integrated Solid Waste Management Fee: $1.40 per ton.
-Los Angeles County Solid Waste Management Fee: $1.50 per ton.
-Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Health Local Enforcement Agency Fee: $0.41 per ton. - Rates for materials that benefit the operation of the facility or that promote solid waste management alternatives are subject to change without notice.
- Rate is for a 1-ton minimum charge, excepting Tires, Special Handling, and Clean Dirt.
- All Food Waste placed with Green Waste must be in plastic bags.
- All rates and surcharges include the L.A. County Business License Tax, as appropriate: 10% of gross receipts, excluding state and local fees and taxes.
- All rates and surcharges include the City of Glendale - Scholl Canyon Landfill Assessment: 25% of gross receipts; vehicles owned and operated by the City of Glendale are exempt.
