Scholl Canyon Landfill Registration Process The City of Glendale on October 6, 1987 adopted Ordinance No. 4780 Regulating the Extent of Use of the Scholl Canyon Landfill. This Ordinance limits disposal at the Scholl Canyon Landfill to solid waste generated within designated cities and communities ( Map of Scholl Canyon Wasteshed). The Sanitation Districts, as operators of the Scholl Canyon Landfill, have the responsibility for implementing the Ordinance. This Ordinance prohibits disposal at the Scholl Canyon Landfill of refuse material generated within any city which either owns, operates, maintains or regulates a sanitary landfill, or is entitled to the use or possession of a sanitary landfill site within its municipal limits, and it allows disposal of solid waste only from designated cities and unincorporated areas listed in the Ordinance. Each user of the Sanitation Districts' solid waste facilities is urged to cooperate in order to ensure proper implementation of this Ordinance. If you wish to use Scholl Canyon landfill, you must receive a monthly solid waste tonnage allotment for disposal. Your allotment shall only include solid waste generated within the permitted wasteshed area. If you want to use Puente Hills and Scholl Canyon landfills, you must register, separately. - Unincorporated area boarded by the cities of San Gabriel, Rosemead, Temple City, Arcadia, and Pasadena;
- unincorporated area immediately to the north of the City of San Marino bordered by the City of Pasadena on the west, north and east sides.
