Earth Day 2010 
Join us on Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. for Earth Day 2010! This is a free community-wide event that seeks to promote environmental awareness and education for the whole family. The event features educational booths, interactive workshops, arts and crafts, activities for children, music, and much more. Learn what you can do to conserve and protect the environment!
Earth Day 2010 will be held at the Sanitation Districts Joint Administration Office Parking Lot, located at 1955 Workman Mill Road in Whittier. Event parking will be located at 13181/13191 Crossroads Parkway North. Shuttle service will be provided. Please click here for an event flyer with a map and directions. 
Highlights of the event include: * Over 50 exhibitors featuring earth-friendly information, advice, and activities * Composting and gardening workshops * Tours of Puente Hills Landfill and San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant * Eco-friendly arts and crafts * Environmental puppet shows * Train Rides * E-waste collection (see below) * And so much more! The day is filled with free family fun! Bring your e-waste to the Puente Hills Recycle Center, located at 2808 Workman Mill Road in Whittier, only one mile away from the event. For each e-waste load brought in between April 12-17, we will give you a coupon for a free slice of pizza to enjoy at the event (coupons available until 12 p.m. on April 17).
