Lunada Bay Elementary School Named Winner of Trash Free Lunch Challenge April 17, 2013Whittier, CA -- Lunada Bay Elementary School was awarded the Grand Prize in L.A. County's second annual Trash-Free Lunch Challenge yesterday afternoon. The award, created by environmental non-profit Grades of Green and sponsored by the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, recognizes the school's significant efforts to reduce lunchtime waste and educate students about recycling and composting.
