Load Requirements The purpose of the Puente Hills Materials Recovery Facility (PHMRF) is to provide waste diversion and publicly owned transfer capacity for Los Angeles County. This facility will help Los Angeles County meet the 50% diversion rate required under California law. Load requirements at the PHMRF supports that diversion goal. CLEAN LOADS
Only loads containing removable amounts of one or more of the following materials will be accepted: - Plastic film and other forms of plastic
- Old furniture
- Newspaper
- Cardboard
- White office paper
- Colored paper
- Mixed paper
- Rags or fabric
- Wood waste
- Metals
- Non-CRV containers
Note: Self haul/hand loads must contain 80% or more of acceptable materials listed above. UNACCEPTABLE MATERIAL THAT WILL BE REJECTED: - Green waste or loads contaminated with green waste
 - Dry wall or gypsum board
- Restaurant or other wet waste
- Liquid waste
- Hazardous material, chemicals, or paint
- Household garbage
- Used oil or material contaminated with oil
- Loads with little or no recyclable materials
PROCEDURE FOR USING THE PHMRF :
Trucks enter using the Puente Hills Landfill entrance at 13130 Crossroads Parkway South and follow the signs to the PHMRF.
All loads will be inspected at the facility by Districts' personnel. Loads not meeting the requirements above will be rejected.
